Olayemi Idebi-Yusuf has spent over 19 years working inside Nigeria's banking and insurance industry — not as an observer, but as a practitioner at the heart of it. From leading insurance marketing teams to managing bancassurance relationships, overseeing public sector accounts, and developing insurance products, she has seen the industry from every angle.

What that experience gave her was not just technical knowledge — it gave her something more valuable: an understanding of why ordinary Nigerians struggle to connect with insurance. She has seen firsthand the confusion, the distrust, the misconceptions, and the very real consequences when people are left unprotected.

That is what led her to create YI.

YI is her platform to bring everything she knows — about insurance products, how policies work, how claims are processed, what insurers look for, and what every Nigerian should demand from their coverage — directly to the public.

Not as a salesperson. As an advocate.

Her background in Mass Communication (BSc, University of Lagos) gives her the ability to take complex insurance concepts and translate them into language that anyone can understand. Her MBA (University of Lagos) sharpens the business and strategic perspective she brings to every conversation.
